With her glossy blonde hair natural good looks and fashionable clothes Fiona Norwood the rector's new wife has caused quite a stir amongst the close-knit parish of Aberthwaite. For this is rural Yorkshire and Fiona's new-fangled ideas of singing more modern hymns and setting up a Young Wives' Club do not go down well. But Fiona is hiding a secret in her past.
